In addition to my role as a scientist, I enjoy dedicating my free time to a variety of activities. I believe in the importance of maintaining a balanced life, although this can sometimes be challenging when the demands of scientific work are high. Taking breaks to refresh and clear the mind is essential and ultimately leads to better performance and creativity at work.
To maintain a healthy state of mind, I swim 2 km on six mornings per week. However, my favorite hobby is cooking. I enjoy reading and watching videos about new recipes, culinary techniques, and cooking tips. On weekends, I often prepare more elaborate meals than I do during the workweek, and I especially enjoy experimenting with desserts. Beyond simply enjoying food, I love cooking because it allows me to share meals and recipes with friends and loved ones. Seeing the happiness that food and flavors can bring to others is incredibly rewarding. |
In my culinary pursuits, I have three lifelong obsessions: cakes, pizza crust, and raw seafood. My current favorite pizza dough recipe comes from the genius chef Kenji Lopez-Alt, who is also my favorite chef. You can find the recipe here. If you are curious about the recipes for any of the dishes featured in the gallery, please feel free to reach out. I am always just as happy to talk about culinary arts as I am about science.
